AuthorinformationAbstractBACKGROUND:Dopplerimagesofpulmonaryvesselsinpulmonarydiseasesassociatedwithsubpleuralconsolidationshavebeendescribed.ColorDopplereasilyidentifiessuchvesselswithinconsolidationswhilespectralDoppleranalysisallowsthedifferentiationbetweenpulmonaryandbronchialarteries.Thus,Dopplerhelpsindiagnosingthenatureofconsolidations.Toourknowledge,Doppleranalysisofpulmonaryvesselswithinanesthesia-inducedatelectasishasneverbeendescribedbefore.Theaimofthiscaseseriesistodemonstratetheabilityoflungultrasoundtodetecttheshuntingofbloodwithinatelectaticlungareasinanesthetizedchildren.
FINDINGS:Threeanesthetizedandmechanicallyventilatedchildrenwerescannedinthesupinepositionusingahigh-resolutionlinearprobeof6-12MHz.Oncesubpleuralconsolidationsweredetectedinthemostdependentposteriorlungregions,theprobewasrotatedsuchthatitslongaxisfollowedtheintercostalspace.Inthisobliqueposition,colorDopplermappingwasperformedtodetectbloodflowwithintheconsolidation.Thereafter,pulsedwavedspectralDopplerwasappliedinthepreviouslyidentifiedvesselsduringashortexpiratorypause,whichpreventedinterferencesfromrespiratorymotion.Differentflowpatternswereidentifiedwhichcorrespondedtoboth,pulmonaryandbronchialvessels.Finally,alungrecruitmentmaneuverwasperformedwhichleadstothe北京著名的白癜风医院浙江白癜风医院
